Thanks to all the bloggers and calendar keepers who have helped spread the word about the festival.  Thanks also to the many sponsors and supporters who made the Echo concerts possible:

The Echo Cooperative is dedicated to bringing to life a community of transformational artists and audiences in Asheville, NC and beyond.  The Cooperative was the outgrowth of the Echo Early Music Festival, which was founded in 2007 by festival director Eric Scheider.  Currently in hibernation, the Cooperative presented monthly concerts in Asheville across the spectrum of historical and new music from around the world..  The long-term vision of the Echo Coop includes the integration of dance, opera, visual art, and other art-forms into our events, to truly live up to our motto of “Art Outside the Box.”

The monthly Sunday evening concert series was named after Paris’s Le Concert Spirituel, one of Europe’s first public concert series, which began in 1725 during the Lent theater closures.  Series performances included members of the Baltimore Consort, the Renaissonics, the Café String Quartet, Patrick Littlejohn, and Charpentier’s Midnight Mass.  A more detailed list of series concerts is available here.  Echo Early Music Festival programs are also listed below.

Eric’s current projects include the Hendersonville Symphony and Youth Orchestras, the Café String Quartet, and TerraVox.  Contact him here for all inquiries.
